In the times of automation of many processes and systems, not only industrial ones, the activities consisting in the cooperation of devices with people are used. For this reason, it is essential to take into account the interaction between people and their machines when designing modern graphic interfaces. Thanks to this, the operator can freely influence the production parameters of the machine in the current work.
To facilitate the work of operators, we design and implement specially tailored graphic interfaces in the man-machine relationship. Most often in our projects we use touch screens, in which you can easily not only enter information, but also observe the data from the production process.
HMI design
The Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel is a device designed for operators to visualize current states, set parameters and control machine functions as well as industrial lines. Most often mounted directly or in the vicinity of objects with which they work.
When designing an HMI visualization, we strive to make it intuitive to use and characterized by the legibility of information provided to the operator. The HMI panels we implement can be relatively simple, connected to an external controller, as well as advanced - being fully autonomous units integrated with the controller with a touch screen, the latest processors and adequate memory.
SCADA design
If a single local HMI panel is insufficient to control your process, we offer the design of a master SCADA system. This name is an abbreviation of the English phrase Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition, meaning an IT supervisory system whose main functions are: collection of current data, its visualization, process control, as well as alarming and data archiving. The SCADA systems we implement collect information from distributed objects cooperating with each other, showing the operator all data in one central location.
Application design
In addition to design, using advanced visualization systems, we also offer the design and programming of graphical interfaces running e.g. in Windows environment. Thanks to such a solution, there is no need for specially prepared operator panels or specialized computers. The user of such a graphical interface only needs a computer, e.g. with Windows, on which a visualization application can be run. This gives a lot of freedom, as well as the possibility to independently increase the efficiency of the hardware and its control.
When designing GUI (Graphical User Interface) we try to take into account a number of factors related to intuitiveness, ergonomics and ease of navigation. Our graphical interfaces are characterized by reducing the level of risk of downtime or human error of the operator. This improves the productivity of the coordinated line, work safety and can also eliminate potential losses associated with accidents or production downtime.
In our long-term work we have gained experience in programming at Beckhoff TwinCAT HMI Engineering, SIEMENS WinCC (TIA Portal) and National Instruments LabVIEW.
